Introducing Anonymized Product Use Analytics
With Hand Engine 3.1, we are introducing anonymized product use analytics to help us understand how our products are being used and to enhance their performance. This feature is optional and can be easily turned off in your StretchSense account settings.
How Product Use Analytics Benefit You:
- Insightful Usage Data: We can see which features are most useful to you, helping us refine and enhance the software.
- Efficient Issue Resolution: By understanding failure modes and their frequency, we can prioritize and address bugs more effectively.
Data Collection Details:
We will track events like button clicks and their timing. The data collected is entirely anonymized, ensuring your privacy. An example of the data we collect might look like:

Your Privacy and Choice:
We respect your privacy and your right to choose. If you prefer not to participate in product use tracking, you can disable this feature in the ‘Settings’ section of your StretchSense web account. Although Hand Engine 3.1 and product use analytics will not be released until June 11th, you can update your settings preferences in your account now, in advance of release. Detailed information on Product Use Tracking is available on our website, and our support team is ready to assist you with any questions. (link to where they should go).
Simplified Software License Agreement:
We have also simplified our software license agreement to make it more user-friendly. The updated agreement includes consent provisions for anonymous product use tracking, and it’s written in clear, straightforward language. The new software license agreement will be available with Hand Engine 3.1 and can be viewed on our website.
Additional Information:
- No user, location or time zone information is collected. Product tracking is based on a random ID assigned to each computer and system clock information without time zone.
- Product use tracking will only be included in Hand Engine 3.1 or later.
- Product use data will be transmitted back to StretchSense using a HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) connection. This uses TLS (Transport Layer Security) to encrypt data in transit to ensure data is transmitted safely and securely.
- Hand Engine will check for product use tracking preference settings updates upon start-up.
- Hand Engine will not collect data when an internet connection is not present at the start of a session. If a connection is present at the start of a session but the connection is lost, product use data will be collected and stored until a connection is re-established.
