Our first product is a stretchable motion capture glove that accurately digitises finger movement to animate characters in movies, games, or drive metahumans in virtual worlds. 

About the role 

As a Quality System Engineering Manager, you will be leading a quality team, collaborating with the product and manufacturing teams to provide technical and quality engineering support. You are someone with high standards in mind who will push us to do better continuously.  

Our team is looking for a highly self-motivated individual with experience in the manufacturing environment, who has a strong knowledge and experience in developing and implementing manufacturing quality management systems, corrective and preventative action, and statistical analysis. This position will be reporting to the head of Hardware and will play a key role in the development of quality and operational strategies and goals.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement quality management systems into the manufacturing line, ensuring quality standards and product specifications are met.  
  • Support the company’s introduction and implementation of manufacturing system processes.  
  • Collaborate with supply chain, sensor production, garment production, OEM, and other stakeholders to develop a quality plan and acceptance criteria for the manufacturing process and product, improving the reliability and consistency of the process.  
  • Lead and participate in FMEAs for design and process; identifies, recommend, and execute corrective actions. 
  • Develop and maintain a system to track and report projects and results of quality awareness programs and initiatives. 
  • Analyse, review, and approve manufacturing engineering SOP, processes, documentation, and operations. 
  • Develop and implement data collection, analysis, and other research for quality projects. 
  • Plan and prioritise the work and assignments of quality team members. 
  • Provide technical and administrative support and coaching to direct and indirect reports. 
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations to quality team members. 
  • Collaborate with the support team and other stakeholders to identify and resolve problems with delivered products. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Experience in standard quality tools, such as FMEA, SPC, PPAP and comprehensive control plans for effectiveness.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent decision-making skills, balancing decisions and priorities across needs of several functionals teams.  
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Supportive Team Management practices. 
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels within the organisation.  
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science.  
  • At least 5 years of experience in quality engineering with exposure in a manufacturing environment, preferably healthcare, electronics, food industry, or similar. 
  • Experience in lean or 6-sigma. 

Preferred: 

  • Experience in NPI projects.  
  • Understanding of APQP methodology. 
  • Familiarity with wearable products’ regulatory and compliance requirements.  
  • Experience in some programming, e.g., python, Matlab, etc.
